Before I kick off a new website project, I always ask clients for a list of existing websites they love. Their list always helps me get a good feel for their design preferences, and it also helps them start thinking about some of the functionality they might want on their own websites.

If clients are struggling to find sites for inspiration, I’ll usually send along a list of my favorite inspiration-gathering sites to help. Below you’ll find a list of my tried-and-true go-tos.

1. One Page Love

One Page Love is all about the one page website. Sort by gallery categories like Portfolio, Event, Wedding, and many others, or browse through the most recent, hand-picked designs. While these creative designs are all one pagers, the inspiration is great for projects of all sizes!

2. siteInspire

siteInspire is a great place for just about any design inspiration, with the ability to filter by all sorts of styles including animation, colorful, corporate, hand drawn, editorial, and much more. Users are also able to sort by types, subjects, and platforms, making site inspiration incredibly easy to find.

3. CSS DSGN

CSS DSGN has unfortunately been archived recently, but it still contains lots of great website examples, sorted by year or alphabetically.

4. Admire the Web

Admire the Web posts new, hand-picked websites regularly for your inspiration enjoyment. The categories on this site are endless, including topics like charity, event, music, photography, portfolio, and so many more!

5. Awwwards

Awwwards is my personal favorite inspiration gallery, featuring a juried collection of website designs. Sort by the sites of the day, sites of the month, honorable mentions, and the winners list–you’ll be here for hours!
